Nandi Integrated Forum For Conservation
ABOUT US
We connect people, places and practical action to create healthier green spaces, restore forests and protect our natural environment for future generations.
OUR STORY
Nandi Integrated Forum for Conservation is committed to bringing communities together to plant, care for and protect trees while promoting environmental awareness and sustainable natural resource management.
We believe that protecting the environment requires collective action. By working with communities, conservation partners and other stakeholders, we aim to restore degraded landscapes, protect indigenous tree species and encourage responsible environmental stewardship throughout the Nandi region.
Our approach goes beyond planting trees. We promote seedling care, regular monitoring and community participation to improve tree survival and ensure lasting environmental benefits.
OUR RESTORATION INITIATIVE
Nandi Integrated Forum for Conservation is targeting the planting of 10,000 indigenous trees across four acres at Chepkiep Forest as part of efforts to restore degraded forest landscapes.
The initiative highlights the importance of restoring indigenous vegetation, strengthening local participation and protecting the ecological value of forests in the Nandi region.
Through collaboration with local communities, the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and the Community Forest Association (CFA), the initiative supports a collective approach to forest conservation and environmental restoration.
The work also recognises that successful restoration does not end when seedlings are planted. Follow-up monitoring, seedling care and replacement where necessary are important for improving survival and establishing healthy forests.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Our conservation efforts focus on practical environmental action that benefits ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
Promoting the planting and care of indigenous tree species to support natural forest regeneration, biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.
Supporting the protection of natural habitats and encouraging environmental practices that help safeguard native plants and wildlife.
Encouraging forest restoration and responsible land management to help reduce soil erosion and protect water catchment areas.
Encouraging residents, young people, schools, volunteers and partners to participate in tree planting, environmental education and long-term conservation activities.
OUR VISION
We envision thriving forests, protected water resources, rich biodiversity and environmentally conscious communities working together to protect our natural heritage.
By encouraging partnerships, supporting restoration initiatives and promoting community stewardship, Nandi Integrated Forum for Conservation seeks to contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment.
Every tree counts. Every community matters. Every action contributes to a greener future.
